Considering the 313s of First Capital Connect and 315s of Greater Anglia have bins, I can't see it being too much of a problem to follow suit here. That would surely at least help somewhat, and lessen the likelihood of passengers leaving their litter on trains.

Merseyrail do employ onboard cleaners for both Southport arrivals , Northern and Wirral Lines.

If you just had litter bins you would still have the problem of emptying them particulary with sets that are on all day diagrams

Merseyrail were giving away free mince pies at Lime St this morning so I have been told. Maybe it is their way of saying sorry for the delays yesterday!!

Errrr No.

The mince pies are always given away at this time of year. The other underground stations will be giving them away over the next couple of days....or so I was told by marketing.

HTH

A track defect delayed a couple of trains this morning at Liverpool Central .

One Chester train turned round at Birkenhead Central

One Ellesmere Port service ran late and terminated Hooton.

Due to unit problems , the 0630 Chester - Chester which started at Rock Ferry , liverpool bound and 0807 Chester - Liverpool are today only running as a 3 car .

saw a UID MPV unit this morning at hightown doing de-icing duties at 08.40 hrs towards HX

I highly doubt it was deicing with the weather we are going to have over the next couple of days , more like jet washing only.

Actually just route-learning at the moment. Some new drivers at Wigan need to learn the road.

All sorts of strange movements been going on, using rarely used curves/crossovers/sidings.

A couple of unit related things I've noticed lately: 507006 seems to have had its traction motors swapped during its last overhaul. Previously, car 64410 made the loud (but tuneful) high-pitched roar that is now made by 64372. Also, 507018's motors make a hoover-like sound when pulling away from stations (64422) - a few of the ex-Silverlink 313/508s make the same noise.

Normally Northern Line only 507015 has also been visiting Birkenhead North depot over the last few days for maintenance.
