Green Lane and Bromborough Rake on the Hooton line will be closed all day on Saturday , With Capenhurst also included on the Sunday .

Think Capenhurst , Bromborough Rake and Green lane closures will sort of give a bit more leeway in the timetable for the Chester services .

Change to the timetable, for at least tomorrow (Monday 30th May) with a 30 min service operating on the New Brighton line and the additional peak Chester service (0752 out of Chester) being cancelled.
Reason due 'a number of technical issues'?
Is this staff related or fleet related then (since more 6 cars have been running over the weekend due to the LFC events in the city)?

Fleet related, a backlog of units are awaiting depot attention.

RE: Merseyrail - N271CKB - 29/05/2022 22:16

On Friday there was a number of evening services short formed to 3cars, whilst at West Kirby there was four units parked up.
On is 508 128 which has been there for some time now

With the TfW units taking up room on Birkenhead North depot space there is at a premium and so units awaiting attention are often stored at West Kirby and New Brighton till they get the call to go in for repair.
508128, which has been at West Kirby for three weeks, is one such unit.

RE: Merseyrail - 313201 - 30/05/2022 22:58

Would it not be possible for the units in need of repair to be taken to kirkdale or are they snowed under with a backlog as well

Space at Kirkdale is very limited due to the number of class 777s stabled.
Often when a class 777 arrives (from delivery or transfer to/from Crewe), some 507/508 units need to be stabled at Hunts Cross or Ormskirk for the evening the move takes place.

What units are currently stabled at West Kirby - I have noted 508128 and 507005, is another unit stabled behind 507005 in siding 1?

The 30 min frequency on the New Brighton line will be extended until at least Friday (3rd June).
Also the evening peak services on the Hooton/Ellesmere Port line will also be cancelled (although they would not be running this Thursday and Friday due to the bank holidays).

Merseyrail twitter resorted to tweeting out which services on the Southport-Hunts Cross and Ormskirk line would be 6 car, as oppose to the one which would be 3 cars (only 1 Southport service 6 car this morning it suggested).
Seems there is a real struggle for unit availability at the moment.
