Thanks for this thank god no one was injured. Has 508140 suffered any damage as just seen some photos of the incident on the Liverpool Echo website and the car looked in a bad way but couldn't tell wether there was any damage to the train.

The train was in a fit enough state to be taken back to Kirkdale depot unassisted,as for how badly damaged it was besides being able to move on its own I don't know

508140 was noted stabled outside Birkenhead North Depot this morning. There is very little visible damage, with a minor scuff on one of the front end panels beside the coupler. The air conditioning box has also been bent back slightly as a result of the impact, but otherwise the unit looks fine.

Nice to see a large number of 6 car formations on the Southport Line today. Pairs I saw today were 507004/508126, 507006/508136, 507016/507021 and 507005/508139

Fusion festival part of the reason for the 6 cars as well as the additional trains provided, will be the same again today

Six cars on the Southport line at weekends is normal practice during the summer period. However, one change tonight that is a result of the Fusion Festival is a 15 minute service between Aigburth and Southport. This marks the third time this summer that the Hunts Cross line has had a 15 minute Sunday service.

Yesterday's pairs in full were:
507004 + 508126
507005 + 508139
507006 + 508136
507008 + 508114
507009 + 508120
507016 + 507021
507025 + 508127
507033 + 508143
508103 + 508108
508110 + 508131

507015 caused havoc on the Wirral Line during the evening peak today by failing initially at Moorfields and then once coupled to another unit failing again near James Street

This unit has been a real troublemaker lately, as it failed with a brake issue just about two weeks ago resulting in a peak time cancellation and had been out of service for several days.

It's my most hated Merseyrail unit

RE: Merseyrail - WAITING FOR THE 437 - 06/09/2016 20:03

Is it me or are the 507's & 508's starting to fall to bits! It seems that they are breaking down more regularly. I think it has proven that really instead of the latest refurb new rolling stock should have been designed and ordered. We will be lucky to have any stock left by the time new trains arrive! Shocking
