There being rattled out at a fair pace , some of the sets that haven't been touched look terrible saw one yesterday where the M had gone completely even the black circle as well and the word Merseyrail was also slowly disappearing from view as well.

That could be 508112, Wirralbus. Believe that one was on the Chester line yesterday. It looks horrific externally including some green graffiti and as I've said already, should have probably been the first to be treated.

That will be the one it was on a chester to Liverpool service when I saw it .

Due to the Rock and Roll Marathon taking place in Liverpool there was expected to be a large amount of 6 cars running today.

All Chester services to be formed as Six cars , Ellesmere Port services will have two six cars out of three operating , please note there is also an event taking place at Spital Claremont Farm .

Kirkby / Ormskirk will have four services formed of three cars and the normal Southport service will not be fully six car services today either .

Disgraceful in one word, that. New Brighton line with six cars but none on Ormskirk & Kirkby. I wonder what goes on with their allocating sometimes.

For some strange reasoning also there was no additional extra service off either the Ormskirk or Kirkby lines this morning .

There was an additional early train from Hooton , Hunts Cross , New Brighton , Southport and West Kirby , each of these service was formed of a six car .

Simple the New Brighton units were passed fit for service, some of the Kirkdale ones weren't.
Couple that with moving units round to cover isn't always possible if there's no available staff...

There really is no excuse for it, considering they've known about this event well in advance. The Ormskirk/Kirkby trains were crush-loaded today - on a Sunday - which really is shockingly bad. The fact you've got New Brighton trains (and some of the Ellesmere Ports) carrying around fresh air all day suggests a poor balance of resources.

At least the Southport line had a 15 minute service all the way to Hunts Cross, unusually for a Sunday, in what was definitely a positive move. Two of the ten formations here were three car too, but it's rather less of a problem with a 15 minute service.

Anyway, on another subject, 508124 has emerged from BD today in the new livery. Looks like 508120 has replaced it, having been outside the re-livery lane this morning. 507001 + 507002 were working together once again on the Southport line.

507032 has been tagged... The New Brighton trains haven't been that quiet I have to say
