Thanks for this, always prefer to get the train back over the X2 but not prepared to put up with a sweltering, crowded 3 car. Much better conditions aboard Southport trains today. Yesterday though should have started with 6 cars throughout because the forecast for this weekend had been good for several days.

Also, 507010 is the latest unit to be re-liveried and looks a whole lot better externally. Somehow the grotty 508112 continues to evade a re-vinyl though!

The units are not revinylled because they're "grotty".
They are done when they come in for modifications, so it's possible that 5081112 has already had the mods done before the vinylling began, and so be one of the last to be done

RE: Merseyrail - H101GEV - 20/05/2014 14:44

What mods are the re-liveried units receiving? Bearing in mind most of them are done within a week, and that 507023 was recently in the depot for a period for mods and was not re-vinyled.

Regardless, all units will have to receive the same mods, so they should clearing the scruffier units first. 508112 definitely fits that description!

1643 Southport to Hunts Cross and its reverse work 1751 Hunts Cross to Southport is tonight short formed .

507023 was in for a C3/C4 overhaul, which normally takes 4 to 6 weeks, and the units are not revinylled on overhauls

507023 was only out for about 2 weeks or so AFAIK and didn't receive any wheelset overhaul work. 508108 was also out for a similar period of about 3 weeks recently and was re-vinyled a short time after.

New liveried 507018 is on the Ormskirk line today looks very smart. 507027 is on Ormskirks too wearing the new livery but not sure if 027 has been reported on here previously?

027 was done at least by early April because I remember seeing it on Grand National day.
