I know why you think its a Commander and i can tell you why while it was at Speke it had a crash and 2603 was of the road too with faults so they took the engin flap from 2603 and put it onto 2551. Since 2603 had problems and it was going to be off road for a long time it made sence to take it and when 2603 was going to retern to the road they put a new engin flap on it.

It can be a easy mistake to make but is a cadet.

In the fleet list, 2551 is shown as having a Cadet body. It is, in fact, a Commander

Thanks for the explanation. When I saw it yesterday I spotted the Engine cover then noticed the body type when looking at the fleetlist today - hence my earlier post.

4402/3/4/5/6/7/10 all left, only 4025/9/76/4157 got sent over as replacements. This is why 2 to 3 single deckers are on loan here and 2456 is still carrying out duties at this depot.

Engineering have said some of the DLAs we've acquired have so much wrong with them, it'll cost birkenhead so much to fix them its not worth bothering for the short time theyre actually staying here hence why theyre rarely out! On the first day they started to enter service here 1 broke down and the windscreen fell out of another, terrible buses and havnt been looked after unfortunatly.

Hybrids where being polished inside and out last night at the back of the yard getting ready for the launch, even the boss of LS was in until around 8pm down the back of the yard with them!

Another day of single decks on the 407/471/472 with a few deckers thrown in for good measure.

And on the 464, I know 2 of them are cadets but didnt see the third! 3135 on 487.

X782 NWX out on the 407/471/472 along with CX58 EUT

Apparently its in line with the introduction of the Hybrids so that the general public actually notice the difference from a poorer service with single decks to the hybrids being introduced firstly on the 407/471/472, in theory anyway.
