Upcoming service changes in Merseyside - Merseysidebusenthusiast - 11/04/2023 15:08

This is a place to talk about the upcoming service changes in Merseyside.
We can discuss the changes and our opinions.
But also post what upcoming service changes there are.

The 10B was supposed to be withdrawn, hasn't happened yet

I think that was an old registration and it presently runs on a different one. Only think that as Arriva also cancelled a few other registrations at the same time, some of which haven't run for quite a long time.

Apologies for going slightly off topic but on the subject of long withdrawn routes, does anyone know why the 30 (St Helens area) still shows on apps/bus times/Google Maps etc?

Arriva have published their LCR service changes that are coming into effect from this Sunday.

Edit: Does anyone know if Bootle's 781 is being withdrawn? This is because St. Helens operates a 781 of their own.

The 10B isn’t being withdrawn.

As stated in another thread, it’s a dormant service. Essentially registered on a different licence many years ago and wasn’t formally published as cancelled (on that license). It was de-registered with routes such as the 25 Open Top service which hasn’t operated for over 10 years and the 41 Pontins service to name a few.

Arriva hasn't removed the service from their open data. It's still in their ticketer systems with no end date and so it is still being picked up by journey planners.

Thanks for the explanation.
