Reported elsewhere is that Northern are to receive ten Class 153s from East Midlands Railway

These will displace 8 153s currently operated by Northern. Presume it has something to do with regulations.

Apparently they're staying and will be joined by EMR's remaining 153s leased from Porterbrook as well

Ex GWR 153373 and 153380 are being moved today from Neville Hill to Heaton.

Enhancements to services on the following routes from Sunday:
Nunthorpe to Middlesbrough and Newcastle
Carlisle to Barrow and Lancaster
Windermere to Lancaster
Manchester to Hazel Grove and Buxton
Scarborough to Hull, Doncaster and Sheffield
Ilkley to Leeds & Bradford Forster Square

Just as a thought regarding the 153s, would it not make sense to run them as 2 or 3 coach sets in order for the distance thing to be maintained.

I just thought it would make more sense as they were originally class 155 units before they were spilt to create the 153s.

Unless they are going to invest in compliant toilets they need to work with 155/156s or 150/2s.

Where did you pick that up? All I can find is Workington-Whitehaven reopening and one extra train between Barrow and Lancaster.

They are the routes Northern have issued new timetables for on their website.

Also now includes Manchester-Marple/Sheffield
