I notice that the Southport-Alderley Edge service, which the GMCA minutes claim is running due to Northern meeting their request to serve Oxford Road for the hospital, but is in fact just where the service is booked to run, are timed at 75mph to Bolton then 100mph 319 timings forward to Piccadilly - hardly conducive to right time presentation through the Castlefield corridor. Also slightly odd is that the timing load then changes again at Picc to 319 rather than 319 100mph, while in the opposite direction they run Alderley-Picc at 100 then just 319 timings forward.
Obviously these times are in preperation for 769s operating but it still seems odd.

Great to see Northern unit allocations on RTT. I wouldn't have minded this back in 2018 when chasing the 323s for rides. 323225 was an elusive little bugger!

Would have been handy when i was hunting the Pacers! Got there in the end however

This is the first of nine 323s to be overhauled on behalf of West Midlands Trains, so it is unlikely to be one of those transferring to Northern. I expect it will be one of the nine units WMT are tipped to retain.

Pacers are now finished with 142004 working the last service to Kirkby this afternoon. The wheelsets are knackered and Northern are not wishing to put them through the wheel lathe. As a result several services will be dropped back to 2 carriages, not ideal!

The WMT 323s are all going to Doncaster for c4 exams, they're not transferring til the back of 2021, all depends on the 730s.

They won't all go unless the 730s are very significantly delayed. Modern Railways states nine to be done with an option for two more.

This is a WMT awarded contract so the rest is up to Northern.

I wouldn't take anything written in a Magazine as gospel tbh.
