It took 22 hours to clear the line, presumably waiting for wheel skates to arrive so it could be moved

I assume that's what caused it then but I was just forwarding the comment left on the service on Railcam.

It’s not paint, it’s just a big Avanti vinyl sticker over the red Virgin brand

All 56 Pendolino sets are to be refurbished in a £117 million pound contract between Avanti West Coast and Alsthom. The work will be carried out at Alsthoms factory at Widnes.

390125 is reported to be the first unit sent to Widnes.

An interesting video has appeared on Avanti's YouTube Channel showing a Pendolino completely gutted inside midway through overhaul.

Avanti to cut the Manchester to London service to hourly from tomorrow, with a limited number of extras via Wilmslow at busier times.

Because of Runcorn box being closed during tomorrow’s dispute, the Lime St to Euston trains are diverted via Earlestown and Warrington BQ

Runcorn box has been closed for some time, that section of route is controlled from Manchester ROC (Wavertree Workstation). Ditton and Halton Jn are also permanently closed. The only services out of Lime Street on strike days are booked via Chat Moss so it is likely to be a case of only having certain workstation panels manned with whoever is available, managers etc.

The freight trains from Liverpool to Drax carrying Biomass are deemed as essential operations that need to continue even during a strike. These have been given paths via Chat Moss on strike days, instead of the usual path via Northwich and Denton. Therefore, Chat Moss is open for passenger traffic too.

Stockport is completely closed also. All the Manchester to Birmingham and London services that are operating are running via the Styal line.
