The UK Gov has opened up the real time location side of the Bus Open Data and thus we should now start seeing more companies joining the map.

To see new operators come online, check the following link and modify the list by 'last updated' as that seems to show as companies come online.

Ah that is good - maybe if it is so open other similar websites will start up soon 'competing' with bustimes?

I do recall a while back - I don't know if it is still the case - that the First Manchester app had other operator times on the stop information screen. Whilst it did have just the First times highlighted and being tracked I do know that it was used in areas of Manchester where First services weren't accessible / infrequent.

Maybe if operators do this, it would give incentive for more people to download them instead of relying on 3rd party applications. Hopefully once TfGM have resolved thier issues with timetabling / service updates on their website, they can look into bringing back their app as that was more useful. If the stops included both the timetabled and tracked times it would add additional clarity (as then passengers will know what time to get their instead of finding a late bus has made up the time).

New feature on the bustimes.org website is individual company vehicle tracking. So, rather than seeing all buses from the participating companies on the map, you can see just a single company's vehicles on the map.

Examples:

Arriva Merseyside: https://bustimes.org/operators/arriva-merseyside/map
Stagecoach MCSL: https://bustimes.org/operators/stagecoach-merseyside-and-south-lancashire/map
Stagecoach Manchester: https://bustimes.org/operators/stagecoach-greater-manchester/map
Blackpool Transport (including trams): https://bustimes.org/operators/blackpool-transport/map

Was hoping that function would appear at some point.

Cheers

Cumfybus was showing up a while ago but stopped tracking

That pre-dates this information being uploaded onto this site
