The Chester to Liverpool Lime Street service has been a three car Class 197 this week with 197112 197111 and 197104 each appearing twice.

197051 has entered service and is current;y paired with 197015 on 1W95 1523 Cardiff Central to Holyhead.

How many have been ordered?
Also, do you know how many are to be ERTMS fitted for use on the Cambrian lines?

The unit numbers are;
197001-051
197101-126
197003/22-41 are the ERTMS batch. 003/024 are the only one delivered and are based at Machynlleth for testing. Of the main batch of 2 car sets most are out in service now apart from 005/050 i think. Of the 3 car sets 101/104/110/111/112 are in service. A couple more are on mileage acceptance. None of the ‘Marches’ sets (113-126 i think) which include First Class have been delivered yet, may be some in storage or on delivery.

The Chester to Lime Street service which has been a near solid three car set for many weeks has started to see two car units again. This week we have seen 197009/17/49 on the service.

Is 230010 stored? It seems to be un the same place on Birkenhead North EMU Depot for many weeks now.
