As of 1400 hrs , Network rail have now decided that the River severn has now reached a point at Shrewsbury where the water is now too high for trains to safely run over the bridge at the South end of shrewsbury station.

The only services now in operation at Shrewsbury are Northbound services to Chester and Crewe.

Road replacement has been ordered but with Shrewsbury being largely inaccessible at this time , it may prove impossible to serve for the forseeable future for Southbound locations.

Marches line : Running Cardiff Central - Hereford

Wolverhampton line : Birmingham - Wellington

Heart of Wales : Llanwrtyd Wells - Swansea

Cambrian Line : ABERYSTWYTH - SHREWSBURY

I would have thought that the Aberystwyth trains would not be able to reach Shrewsbury as it would have to go over the bridge

The cambrian was already shut out of Shrewsbury.
,
Rather suprisingly ATW ran some Wolves-Wellington shuttles - and at first glance did rather better than WMR in that respect!
