Looks smart in the old arriva livery. Good to see winsford are keeping some cadets as their well liked by drivers & passengers alike.

2950 is here just seen it on a 6

2950 has been at winsford for a while now, today macc had plaxton president 4176 working crewe duties.

Also although it wasn't mentioned what with but apparently the centros are being withdrawn not too long from now (next 18 months) told from a driver.

Ye I knew that its been here for a while just confirming that it was here following confusion with it being at St Helens I think was on 4176 as well on a 31 it seemed in good condition I will have to get my skates on with the 3 Centros I still need to find if they are going soon.

What will eventually replace the Centros at Winsford, will it be new vehicles or vehicles transfered in from elsewhere? With it being 18months probably gives them time to order new vehicles which could be long MMC200s which they've got in various fleets round the country.

I don't know if 18 months is true or not, the driver I was chatting with just seemed to think it'd be definitely in the next couple of years at the most.

Knowing winsford's luck which seems to be non existent we'll end up with older buses cascaded from other depots. IIRC the last new buses they got were the mellor bread vans & before that the solos.

As 4176 was on 38s yesterday it would appear that macc are still having issues in getting their dedicated branded geminis (4489/4490/4491) on the road. Seems to be an almost daily occurrence where there's 1 or sometimes 2 missing.

As these are 56 plates they are almost 13 years old. Arriva have a nominal 15 year life for a bus so the Centros will be nearing the end of their natural working life in 18 months anyway. It's likely they are at the stage now where a major unit failure may result in withdrawal rather than repair.

I would be surprised to see these go anytime some when you consider how many 54 and 55 Plate Cadets are still in service within Arriva North West and Wales, You would expect these to bugger off first
