A new freight started at the beginning of 2014 from Germany to England via the Channel Tunnel. DB Schencker have won a three year contract with Novelis to carry 10 ton aluminium coils from Nievenheim (between Koln and Dusseldorf) to Ditton, Widnes. The aluminium is used in the soft drinks and automotive industries. At Ditton the train is loaded for the return journey with 27 ton slabs of recycled aluminium from Latchford. Currently the train runs three times per week but plans are in place to increase this to six.
The unloading depot at Ditton is between the closed station and the Container Terminal.

I said the same thing in the post above, We dont need two posts together saying the same thing

On another note apparently this is a trial for a possible contract starting So it will be worth keeping an ear open on this one.
