From what I can see, they have allocated extra time at the end points so that it doesn't run early - which from my experience of the 44/288 (east of Altrincham) has occurred.

I've taken the 101/103 frequently on different days of the week from Manchester during the afternoon peak, and have driven through Moss Side to Princess Parkway, and it's really difficult to predict the traffic flow on a daily basis. Stagecoach have opted for the extra allocation at the "Alexandra Park" stop but this means that when the traffic flow is quiet it can be waiting here for at least five minutes.

The advantage to the 44 route is how it weaves around Moss Side and Withington (and now Didsbury) avoiding a lot of roads that don't have car traffic. Looking at the bustimes.org tracking data for today it does look like it's working with both the 16:21 and 17:21 from Manchester running on time or only a few minutes late.

I will be commuting on one of these routes later this week as it's really going to be beneficial to get home - shame that the first morning service towards Manchester departs too late to do the same - so I will get first hand experience of a different operator to MCT, Diamond and Selwyns.

SJ22 HKU has appeared on the bustimes list. Does anyone know what type of vehicle it is?

How many baby vehicles can they get away with using? I would have thought less now they've lost some of the Altrincham local work to Arriva. Perhaps 1974 and 1975 will be withdrawn soon given they were registered 15 years ago, which I think is the limit for TfGM contracts.

I'm surprised they are using one on the 288. Have they or someone else started running a separate school service to prevent the 288 getting rammed with St Ambrose pupils?

One of the Orions appears to be on the 44 today, alongside 2xMMCs.

Usually, two of the Ducatos will be on service 280 (Sale to Altrincham via Ashton-on-Mersey., as seen below at the Hayfield Street start point in Sale this morning.

Decker 1957 - WSV 541 tracking on the 391/392. Is that correct?

So is it regularly 'on standby' at Altrincham?

I observed it got brought in to service for the Altrincham to East Didsbury part of the 288 on the 19 April, after two vehicles got stuck in horrendous traffic in the Hale Barns area.

RE: Go Goodwins - Citibus - 06/05/2022 14:54

I think its often used as a drivers break room or was at least before the recent Altrincham area tender losses
