^^^^

The public couldn't care less. All they want is a cheap and cheerful service around Warrington. Customer numbers are on the rise, buses are full and new routes are planned. Not a bad start to an operator which is funded by just one genuine guy who is doing his best.

I agree regarding the livery but the way the destinations are displayed is very poor and It wouldn't take much to fix that.
I'm not knocking them, don't get me wrong, and it's good to hear that passenger numbers are rising but they've had a massive help in hand from thier main compititor.

Totally agree about the blinds, would prefer some proper displays plus it looks more professional. I think with regards WBT, people use us as we are much cheaper so in a sense it's a no brainer...

One of the 'new' omnicities broke down on Brownlow Hill at 8.30am today... and refused to move for a good while

As mentioned, here are photos of two OmniCitys taken on Monday.

New timetables from 14th September:
http://home.btconnect.com/haltontransport/servicechanges.htm

It seems that the 'buzz' is about the new 'buzzabout' circular service 9 ... looks interesting!
Some of the changes to the 2's, 14's and 62's are quite curious, particularly with half of the 2's changing number to 62 (and vice versa) at Green Oaks for journeys between Halebank and Murdishaw/Warrington.

It also looks like the 27 will be interworking with something: it fits well with the 2's, but then the 17(A) wouldn't work, so my bet is that the 2's (which don't go onto 62's) won't interwork, and the 27 will interwork with the 17(A) and 14C.
But we shall wait and see!

Halton ran a Solo on one of Rainford High's school services this afternoon - poor allocation as it was packed right to the doors.

Halton are rather good with their schools, they trail a bus such as the solo to see how well it is used by students, and if it fits they'll use one daily, and if not, a larger bus or duplicate will appear the next day. They tried this last year with the Riverside College services with the 45(am) being operated by a permanent solo from marshall capital 2's.

It must be a bit confusing all these alterations of the 14. It wasn't too long ago that the 14/A/B/C/D ran and they all took different routes to the current services, let's hope someone with good memory doesn't get confused!

They've operated the services for a number of years and none of them warrant a Solo. I would've hoped Halton would be aware of that by now. The example out today was packed anyhow.

It looks like the 9 will go onto a school run in the afternoon when they are open, and probably come off one in the morning too.
Other than that, the route would probably suit Solo operation -- so, unless there is a particularly quiet school run it can go onto, let's hope it does get a full-size bus.
