Yes, I think it would be a service 2 which would be missing or operate late due to this incident (I may be wrong, but I think that all inbound 17a's go onto the 2, apart from the 17a due in at Vicarage Road at 0842, 1752 and 1852).
It sounds on the face of it like the vehicle was quite behind time too: there should generally be quite a gap between a 17a arriving at Vicarage Road and the next outbound 17a leaving -- that is, apart from the 17a due in at 0842.

Yes it should be a 2.

I can't quite remember how they interwork but it's something on the lines of a 17A will go out to St Helens, return as a 17, do a service 2 to Halebank, and it will later end up on the longer hourly West Bank 2, before returning back to the 17/A
(17/A > 2 > 2 > 17/A > 2 > 2 etc... Where each number is a return trip of that service)

#43 is out on 14A lates tonight. It's developed what sounds like an exhaust problem and it makes it sound like a cummins engined Leyland Lynx (with voith) when pulling off, it's extremely fast too!

For the first time since it's introduction, there is now a duplicate working on route 43 (Windmill Hill > Riverside Kingsway > Riverside Cronton) due to high demand.

Mini Marshal on the 14 tonight, while No 52 was broke down outside Lime Street Station for around an hour with the van there then the van disappeared with the driver and the bus is still therr in darkness assume its waiting for a tow

#74 was on the 27 mid-afternoon

RE: Halton Transport - WidnesRuncornBus - 20/11/2013 19:47

74 was once again on the 27 again today or so it would seem, I was waiting for my bus this morning at Chestnut lodge and 74 passed displaying that it was on the 2, then I boarded my bus which on the way to greenoaks overtook 74, I arrived at greenoaks and then 74 turned up 5 minutes later displaying 27! I presume the 7 must have got stuck as it is a unusual interwork.

#60 which is usually stuck on the 27 is making some pretty strange (and loud) noises, I've not seen it myself lately, but maybe it's undergoing repair?

One of the #7* darts was on the 44(PM) before which is rare.

Considering I am round town a lot I haven't seen it since last Friday and to be honest its not one of Haltons healthiest sounding solos, and is very possibly the poorest example. Also belive it was 75 on the 44, last 70 something dart I seen working the 44 was 76 a little while ago.

#15 appears to have a new front bumper. Possible accident damage as there was a crack in the side part as well. Nether the less it was still out on long 14s today so cant have been that bad.

Saw #23 (I think) broken down Widnes-bound on Marshalls Cross Road, St Helens. Not sure what service it was meant to be on, it said "Hough Green Farm" on the destination blinds, but no number. It had broken down right before the mini-roundabout and was causing quite a big queue behind it!
