"Route branded" ... I think the last route branded service in Widnes was the 66, right?
It's interesting news, definitely!

Branding for multiple service numbers often comes across in an unprofessional way, so I wonder whether Halton will put service numbers on the branding, and if so how they will do it.
The most common thing seems to be include something in the style of "26/A" in the branding, which for example Arriva uses on Southport services, but I think that forward slashes like that look scatty.
Probably the most polished look I've seen is from Stagecoach, with different numbers in linked 'bubbles', like on http://www.stagecoachbus.com/PdfUploads/Map_13315_5-5A%20Nuneaton.pdf

NB: fully aware that Halton managers don't have this kind of thing high priority, and wouldn't expect them to have either.

A fully branded and numbered Solo is currently in the corner of Caldwell Road yard. Got a couple of photos through the fence. Will upload this evening.

Just seen that going round myself as well, looks good. Green branding across the roofline. There looks to be another unbranded one in the yard as well although i didnt see enough of it to be able to say for certain.

Currently two in Caldwell Road yard.

Managed to get a couple of shots of number 20 on the 26 in West Bank in the sunshine at lunchtime.

Hi, I cant see how branding would work with halton personally it just wouldent seem right. I also spotted #72 on the 17a this morning broken down near the round about at asda. I was on the passing 79c and I presume it must have completly failed because it was parked in the most arkward position, it took my bus 2 and a half mins to rry and get arround it, seen the the yellow Vauxhall fleet surrport vehicle coming up milton road presumably going to the aid of the #72.

So will the busses used on the 26/A tomorrow be route branded? Well, one of them anyway? :P

Two of them I believe mate, 55 and 56.

Had the #55 on 26A today - it's alright inside, slightly strange having no back window to look out of every now and then - but that's just cosmetic. Although, I've got to admit, the engines were on the noisy side and seemed to shake a lot when waiting at lights etc.

For most of the journey it was just me and the driver, following the WCM 13 service, it is only the first day though.

Found the first clear picture I've seen of one of the new solos before :

Doesn't look too bad imo!

I've really grown to like the Solo's now - but believe me they look nicer in reality! Smile
