Halton do a lot of school contracts so I would guess second hand buses are perfect...I certainly wouldn't have kids on brand new buses they would wreck them.....

Love the fact everyone is suddenly experts. I’m sure these buses have been inspected and looked over before they were purchased, but fair play to them for going after older second vehicles that will probably be less problematic than newer vehicles.

They're not Eclipse 2s

BG14 OOJ/OOV/OOW are the only Eclipse 2s at Queens Road at the moment

Do they still operate the Marshall Capital buses. If so my guess would be that these darts are Replacement for these. Also Halton haven’t bought brand new buses for years.

The 12 plate Enviros were ex Avon Buses
Some of the Scanias were ex Go Ahead Metrobus

All Marshalls were withdrawn by the middle of July, with 33 going for preservation. 30, 31 and 32 are still on site

But again who says they have to buy new buses?? If they have got a good deal on a batch of second hand vehicles what’s the issue??

Don't think Halton will be buying new buses any time soon, more just a surprise that they are going for.13 1/2 to 14 year old darts.

I think what people are getting at is the 15 Year old rule on Merseyside on certain things

It's not likely that they'll be looking to send these Darts across the river though.

They will most likely get onto the 14 and 61 at least like the Marshall Darts did
