& buying Halton would be even more unlikely given Arriva's presence already in the area, & remember it was the MMC forced Stagecoach to sell Preston Bus, even though Preston Bus asked Stagecoach to take them over, so no way will Arriva be allowed to buy Halton without at least selling off Runcorn depot first..

As has been said, various rumours have been going around for some time of various buyouts for Halton Transport however none have ever happened.

One thing that is true, they are apparently buying the Enviro200s that Avon Buses has for sale!

These could be to replace the Marshall Darts as I think theyve been withdrawn

I suspect they are to replace the Solos as they are only short Enviro200s

I hope they do survive but looking at passenger numbers it shocks me how they keep going as the buses seem To run round almost empty

Not the first time you have made that comment. Just like your employer they are owned by the council and have to justify their existence - if they were not making money and were costing the tax payer any money at all they would have been sold off along time ago.

It depends how it is done. Plus, if what people have previously said is true and Merseytravel tenders are keeping them going, they wouldn't be a burden until they lost the contracts.

Is the 14 the only Halton route that reaches Liverpool City Centre?
