RE: Northern Rail - St Helens Rider - 31/08/2015 20:20

I presume the stock on the Ellesmere Port branch ran Ecs from Lime Street.

All 3 diagrams on the Liverpool - Manchester Airport line appear to be diesel operated this morning. With Northern now having 16 319's, surely 3 could have been used today.

All 3 diagrams this afternoon back to 319's including 319 362. Can't understand why they weren't running earlier.

Has the overhead wires been isolated somewhere on the route during the morning ?

Fifteen actually. 319366/76/77/78/79 are not yet in service.

For all three diagrams to be diesel, there must be a reason. Out of the 15 available 319375 hadn't entered service as of Thursday last week, so if that's still the case it leaves 14 units.

I thought it ran off the Liverpool - Warrington Bank Quay service.

Quite strange this afternoon at Wigan North Western - the stock forming the 1603 stopper came down from the Preston direction and was to start from Platform 1. Has there been some problems earlier this afternoon as the service usually arrives/departs from platform 6.
