Wigan Today is reporting a crash at a Wigan station, anyone have details?

RE: Northern Rail - wirralbus - 27/11/2014 12:34

COMMUTERS are facing delays after a train crash at a Wigan station.

Rail maintenance workers escaped the collision by seconds as a goods train crashed into two cherry pickers at Bryn station.

This is copy and pasted from the Wigan Today website , the incident is at Bryn , not Wigan.

I had a Rail Replacement in this morning and according the St Helens Central ticket office, services may only be resuming at 5pm tonight - probably another Rail Rep home.

It wasn't a goods train, it was one of the trains being used for the electrification scheme.

As I said that was what was quoted by that website .

Everything stops and gets left where it was in that sort of investigation so the RAIB can investigate properly.

Thanks for clearing the subject up as I didn't think there was much freight up there at Bryn.

North East based pacer 142087 was an unusual visitor on the Man Vic to Lime St yesterday evening

No problem, not the first time a news agency has got something wrong.

As for 142087, it has been about for a few days, 142094 has been around too.
